Local policing teams work with and within their local local communities so they can learn more about the concerns and priorities of the people who live there and can tackle those issues on the ground. They can use their specialist knowledge to offer crime prevention advice, to deal with anti-social behaviour, reduce crime and protect vulnerable people.

Report Non-Urgent Crimes, Seek Guidance, Report Suspicious Activity

Live web chat is another way you can speak to operators in the Demand Hub. Live chat can be used to:

  • report non-urgent crimes,
  • seek advice, guidance or support, or
  • tell us about something suspicious you've seen or heard.

Messages are handled in the same way as online reports or 101 calls, but can be much faster. The only difference between calling 101 and using web chat is the technology used. The process operators follow after they receive the information is exactly the same.

East Cambridgeshire Priorities - January-April:

  • Drug use & dealing - linked to CSE, exploitation and knife crime in Ely and Littleport
  • Anti-social driving and speeding - linked to dangerous driving in Ely and perceptions of car cruises
  • Anti-social behaviour in Bottisham, Ely and Littleport

Community Engagement Events

East Cambridgeshire Neighbourhood Police Team run quarterly online meetings. Hear you can hear direct from the officers policing our area, hear about recent activity. They are there to listen to your concerns and allow you to shape future activity.

Each quarter they have an online survey so they can build up a picture of what is happening in this area and what is concerning residents the most. They then invite you to join them at this online meeting.
